Begin Banishing Your Marketing Overwhelm!

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

By Audrey Burton Marketing your business can be quite overwhelming. There are so many choices! Its difficult to know the right things to do. By properly preparing, you gain confidence and have a much greater chance for success. Even before completing any preparatory work, ask yourself these tough questions: 1. Why are you in this business? 2. Do you believe in your product/service? 3. What are you trying to accomplish? When you believe in your product and understand why youre doing what youre doing, the rest of the marketing process becomes much easier. The results of the following exercise will provide material for all your marketing efforts. You can use the information on your website, in your sales presentation, in your advertising, in your networking and everywhere else you touch your prospects. The first step in the plan is to know the features and benefits of your product or service (lets say product). (If you have a service business, this list should include information about you.) For example, lets say your product is office furniture. Describing the features of your product and your company might look like this: Been in business 18 years Lots of variety including home office Free delivery All price points 7 day guarantee While knowing your features is very important, its even more important to identify the benefits of your product. This process involves more thought you need to put your feet in your ideal customers shoes and ask, Whats in it for me? (wiifm) For example, Why should I care if youve been in business 18 years? How does that help me? To fully understand the benefits of your product, first list the features, and then answer the wiifm question for every feature. There are no rules for this exercise and there will likely be more than one benefit for some features. Getting back to our office furniture example, here are some benefits: Longevity well be here for you when you need us. We will remember you! You dont even have to come into the store when you need something. Bottom line a relationship, convenience and peace of mind. Variety one-stop-shopping. No matter what you need, we have it or we will get it for you. We save you time. Free Delivery save you money. All prices you will not be disappointed. When you come to our store, you will find what you want within your budget! We save you money and minimize stress at the same time. Guarantee If it doesnt fit or doesnt look good, well take it back no questions asked. This gives peace of mind and freedom in making your decision. If you get stuck determining the benefits, ask your customers! Why did you buy from us? If the answer is vague, be willing to go deeper and deeper until you get something useful. For example: I bought from you because I liked the furniture. You go further What did you like about it? It matched my existing office furniture. So, you appreciated the variety we offer? Did you look anywhere else? What did you find there good and bad? Were there any other reasons you bought from us? This may be stressful for you, and you may feel like youre bugging your customers. Again, put your feet in your customers shoes do you think your customers want you to succeed? If your vendors called to ask you to help them, would you? If youre still uncomfortable, offer an incentive or gift to customers who help you to do this research. Another way to define benefits that are important to your prospects is to determine their needs and define their problems. By fully understanding your potential customers needs and problems, you can better give them what they want. Sometimes your prospects dont fully understand their needs and problems, so doing this research in advance and being prepared with this information, you can help them even more. Its critical to always keep your favorite type of customer (your target) in mind when doing this exercise. Match up what they most want and need with your benefits, and create a benefits statement that makes an emotional connection with your target. You may want to include points of differentiation in this statement. Whether you do your own marketing or hire a consultant, you need to intimately understand how you and your target connect. Combined with a genuine belief that your product truly benefits your target customer, your benefit statements will bring you lots of business! Does God Hear Our Prayers

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

By Andrew B. Smith In the Christmas classic, It’s A Wonderful Life, the movie starts out with the hero in dire straits and almost an entire town praying for him. The opening scene shows stars in the sky while we hear the prayers of the townspeople rising up to heaven. God answers those prayers by sending an angel down to Earth to help the hero. From there a touching story unfolds about the many ways that a good person influences the lives of those around him. Although it isn’t the main point of the movie - we all get to see God taking an active role in our lives by answering the prayers of the townspeople. But It’s A Wonderful Life is only a movie. In real life we rarely see how God answers prayers. Prayers are so personal that we rarely ever discuss them. By keeping silent though we lose the opportunity to share some of the real wonders of our lives - the answers to our prayers. Some of the greatest moments in my life have been when I’ve believed that one of my prayers was answered in a very direct manner. I had an experience 20 years ago that changed the course of my life. It happened in the space of a heartbeat but changed my life completely. Although I felt at home in the church I had been attending for 7 years I did not feel close to God. I could feel God’s presence - but I felt apart from Him. It was very frustrating. I could see God at work in other peoples’ lives but not in my own. I began to feel jealous of others and angry with God. Then something happened. I was walking on the beach one day when I saw a man about my own age playing in the water with another man who was obviously mentally handicapped. As the day wore on I kept looking at them playing together and I grew angry that the one man could be such a good person. I couldn’t fathom how someone could be so good as to genuinely enjoy playing all day with a mentally handicapped man. Finally, in my utter frustration, I wished that both men would drown and I cursed God for allowing me to see the good in others but not the good within myself. I decided then and there that religion was either a form of self delusion and that God did not exist or, if He did exist, that He did not listen to our prayers or care about us as individuals. A few weeks went by. I stopped praying and I stopped going to church. Then, one afternoon I got an answer (I hadn’t really thought that I had asked a question). In the space of a heartbeat the answer was just there. “I do not allow you to see the good in others to frustrate you. I allow you to see me at work in others lives to inspire you. I do not keep myself apart from you. I am always with you. It is you who keeps yourself apart from me. Open your heart. There are as many ways to draw close to me as there are people on the Earth. Be patient - you will find your way.” The perspective of my life shifted back then and my life has been immeasurable better ever since. , I can honestly say that I have lived a life almost entirely free of envy or jealousy. What’s more, I am constantly inspired by the good that I see in almost everyone I meet. If we are to be ambassadors of our faith we must get past any awkwardness we feel in discussing our own personal experiences. If we can do that we can work effectively by drawing on our own inspiring stories to bring others closer to God. The author maintains a fee public bulletin board where people of all faiths are encouraged to post inspiring true stories of the answers to their prayers. http://www.quicktopic.com/37/H/xRhUWYPivmjFE Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Andrew_B._Smith http://EzineArticles.com/?Does-God-Hear-Our-Prayers&id=295323 phentermine online with no prescription phentermine 37.5 without prescription low cost phentermine no prescription buy phentermine online no perscription

Depression Medications - What Works?

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

By Michael Russell Antidepressant medications work for about one third of the people who take them. For another one third there is partial relief and for the remaining third, they do not help at all. In almost all cases, the relief provided by these medications is temporary and relapse into depression again is all too common. With this type of random, hit or miss type success rate it is clear that the medical and pharmaceutical communities do not have a firm grasp on the complete biological causes and cures for depression. Clearly, depression is much more than just a chemical imbalance in the brain so to say what works and what does not work is still a very open-ended question. In the current state of medical research, there are three main families of antidepressant medications: 1. Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) such as Celexa, Paxil, Zoloft and Prozac. This is the newest, largest and most popular group of antidepressant medications. They work by reducing the amount of serotonin that is reabsorbed by nerve synapse thereby increasing the amount of serotonin available at the synaptic connections. This, in turn, is supposed to enhance the brain signals that are present independently of whether or not those signals are good or bad. 2. Tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs) such as Pamalor, Ludiomil and Elavil. These are the precursors to SSRIs and basically work the same as SSRIs except that they are not selective. In other words, they can affect many neurotransmitters other than serotonin and therefore, generally, have more pronounced side effects. TCAs are sometimes prescribed today but generally, they are considered to be an older generation of antidepressants compared to SSRIs. 3. Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) such as Nardil, Parnate, Wellbutrin, Effexor and Marplan. These are often called atypical antidepressants because they are most often prescribed when other more typical medications such as SSRIs and TCAs have failed to produce good results. Sometimes certain depression symptoms such as anxiety attacks, phobias and excessive sleeping will indicate the best course of action is a MAOI. If you and your doctor are looking at various medication options there is no clear path to deciding which to try. There is no blood or other clinical test available that can point you to one medication over any other. Often if one medication does not work, it does not eliminate that entire family of medications. Sometimes almost an identical medication will help reduce depression. Unfortunately, all of these medications work very slowly and you need to take the medication for 6 to 8 weeks to identify whether or not it is helping. If it isn’t working, it takes almost as long to clear it out of your system. You and your doctor may have to go through many different types of antidepressants before you find one that works. Generally, you never want to take two different types of depression medication at once unless your doctor specifically prescribes it. Drug interactions, with MAOIs in particular, can be very dangerous. Generally, your doctor will start you out with medications that are SSRIs, which are safer and have fewer negative side effects. Usually the best course of action is to combine medication with talk therapy. Get A Guy- 15 Tips For Your First Internet Date

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

By Coco Swan Girls! That guy youve been busy e-mailing on the dating site has finally committed to meet in person. Heres how to survive that first real person date! 1: Be punctual. Do you like to be kept waiting? Arriving late gives the impression that you are inconsiderate of others time. 2: Try to meet for a coffee. Chatting over a coffee can go from 15 minutes to 2 hours. If the guy is a total loser it is totally acceptable to wrap it up fast. If you have plenty in common one coffee can easily become two. 3: Arrive sober. Stay sober. Alcohol may give him the idea that you are a lush or easy and will also lower your inhibitions, perhaps with you later thinking, I didnt really mean to say or do that. 4: Smile! Be upbeat and try and stay positive without giving the impression you are on your tenth coffee. 5: Leave your cell phone off or at best on silent but do not answer it or acknowledge it.. You will never find a partner if you cant give the guy 15 minutes of your attention without the rest of your world stopping . 6: Go with your basic instincts. If he seems like a potential stalker or psychopath employ your plan b exit plan for emergencies a.s.a.p. 7: Go for smart casual or after work look. Wait for the nightclub date to show off the nightclub frock and makeup. A lot of guys are put off by excessive dramatic makeup, so go for natural and discreet. Tactfully show off your best attributes. Fantastic legs? Boot leg trousers or shortish skirt will show him this without you having to resort to a micro-mini skirt . Your cleavage your best asset? Wrap tops are great for these fortunate ladies because they show your curves without wearing a shirt that starts opening halfway to your belly ring. Remember, you want him to come back for more, not feel like hes seen the whole you on the first meeting. 8: Absolutely no sex! Even if he is your George Clooney and youve been in a sexual hiatus for seemingly years. Having sex on a first encounter has just made this first date a dreaded one night stand. You need to stimulate the guys respect, interest and like. The lust mode is much more easy to engage than the afore mentioned aspects. Remember the oft quoted male interpretation of would you like to meet for a coffee? really means eventually Id like to have sex with you. Make him wait. 9: For safety issues never, ever give out fine details that pin point exactly where you live. What happens if he turns out to be a stalker? 10: Avoid past relationship autopsies. No one likes damaged goods. Make sure you have the basic areas of your life covered with short and sweet explanations. Dont forget he wouldnt be free to have coffee with you if his own love life was in perfect order so he also has some sort of history. 11: Treat him with the same respect you like for yourself. Nowadays, everyone is so tied up in themselves and have become so me,me,me. 12: Stranger danger. You cant be too careful. Inform a friend where you are going and with whom (a little tricky with internet dating).Select a well lit, busy coffee shop thats easy to enter and leave. If the encounter is unsuccessful you dont want to be worrying about scurrying down some dark alley, being followed to the subway or harassed hailing a cab. You could also plan to meet a friend afterwards. Please do not have your friend sit there and watch on you from another table as this is too disconcerting and sometimes obvious, not too mention a bit school girlish. If you become fearful try a ruse like going up to the wait staff to order another coffee, mention to them you dont feel safe and can they keep an eye out on you. Go to the powder room and call your emergency exit. Get out as quickly and politely as you can. Make sure he is not following you. 13: Try to hear as well as talk. Both of you should leave feeling like you got a bit of a better understanding of the other. How often do you and your girlfriends say about a potential date he is just so into himself, his career that he wasnt even interested in anything about me? Even though it sounds terribly obvious a safe balance is about 50/50 although it can be tricky with first date nervousness etc to get it right between clamming up entirely and verbal diarrhea. 14: Be friendly, listen and smile. First impressions do count. When trying to find a long term partner dont sell yourself short by coming over as tacky or cheap. You want to be treated with respect with an eye on the future not viewed as a quick sexual conquest. 15: Practice makes perfect. Some say you are here for as good time not a long time. Dont tie yourself up in knots about these first dates, if this one wasnt a success then it really was just perfecting your dating skills whilst waiting for your Mister Right to come along. Hopefully next time! Good Luck, Coco Swan. Copyright 2007 Author Coco Swan Coco recommends reading this easy-path and increasingly popular guide to making sure you get the guy you want. Location Sensitivity - Cell Phone GPS

Sunday, January 27th, 2008

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Robert_Lett]Robert Lett This is basically a system to locate the handheld when making a call to 911. In the mid to late 1990’s, many people got cell phones just for the emergency use of being able to call for help almost anywhere. The problem came up when statistics showed that almost 92% of all serious 911 calls, (where the person was just barely able to make the call), they either didn’t know where they were or was unable to tell the 911 operator where they were, or they might not have been able to talk at all. This caused a big concern, 911 operators couldn’t do anything but listen to the person on their cell phone as they pass away. The Location Sensitivity system still doesn’t work if you are in an area that only has an analog signal. (Which is the older cellular system of the mid 1990’s and earlier). Most metropolitan areas and all interstate freeways are covered by the newer digital service. It’s just when you get out in the middle of no-where, you might end up with an analog signal. Most phones will display the letter “A” in the top right or left corner when using this system. Check your phone documentation, some phones don’t even have this capability. Which means if you get into one of these areas, you can’t make any type of call what-so-ever. Soon, the Location Sensitivity feature will probably be offered by the cellular companies as part of their pricing plan. Some carriers like Nextel are already taking advantage of this new technology by giving customers a GPS location service along with their calling plan. If you don’t have this option with your carrier, and you have a Smartphone you can always purchase one of the SD slot GPS units that works with mapping software. The program I’ve really enjoyed is Mapopolis, which works great with most of the popular GPS hardware available. And most even have a voice activation that will tell you where to turn, which is directed through the speaker phone portion of the Smartphones. The ability to have GPS information and mapping on your handheld will be a great plus while traveling. Back to the Location Sensitivity. I’m just wondering how much the cellular companies are going to charge for such a GPS type service!? I’m sure they’re all working hard right now on the new pricing plans that we’ll have to pay if you don’t have the GPS hardware to install on your Smartphone. When these services become available, they will only be location based. Another words, most GPS’s these days will actually give you your current altitude and most have a pretty fast refresh rate. The refresh rate is the time between position updates. An example; If you have a GPS in your hand that refreshed three times per second, this would be a very acturate reading. Even if you are driving at 70 miles per hour, the moving map on the GPS will be able to keep up with your actual location. That’s an issue the engineers are dealing with on the Location Sensitivity system. It wasn’t designed to have any type of refresh rate at all. Once a position has been found, it never was designed to refresh that position. (I guess if you are hurt, and you called 911, you aren’t supposed to be moving. Hmmm, So if you fell off a bridge, and landed in the back of a truck driving down the interestate, I’m not sure if they would be able to locate you. They would know where you were when you first dialed 911, but as your location changes, they might not be able to find you). Supposedly, the 911 operator can pull a refresh, this would at least tell them the direction the vehicle is moving. But to locate you while you’re moving, might be more difficult than anyone had expected. Another problem with many of the handheld units, the actual speed of the processors within them. Most cell phones operate on around 1 to 2 MHz processor speed. Most Smartphones operate anywhere between 30 to 500 MHz. (Most new home computers are operating between 2 to 4 GHz processor speed, just to give you an idea). This is where the engineers are running into the biggest problem with creating a GPS refresh rate. The processors in all handhelds will just have to be faster than they are today. And like all of our other technolgies, I’m sure this won’t be a problem very much longer for the designers. Hmmm, soon we’ll have Pentium 9 cellular and Smartphones running at 8 GHz processor speed! You know it’s going to come to this, and it’s not that far away. Robert Lett http://www.robertlett.com Let me ask you a question: How much is your computer worth when you or your employees are sitting in front of it? Now, how much is that same computer worth when you or your employees aren’t sitting in front of it? When you’re out of the office and that potiential client calls, do you have to tell them that you will get in touch with them when you return to the office? Is that potiential client calling your competition in the mean time to see if they get a better response? What if you could have all your important files with you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week? Hanging on your belt or sitting in your purse, and it wouldn’t weigh too much more than the cell phone you are currently carrying. Barbara

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

By Benjamin Cox I have many lingering thoughts of both good and bad times while living with the Baptist Home (1953-61) family in Monticello, Arkansas. I would place this next story in the category with the good times. Donald Dodson is not remembered as a close friend. The truth is, I have very few memories of him at all. However, there is one weekend (1957) in Blytheville, Arkansas when we were thrown together in a most unusual circumstance. That is, most unusual by The Baptist Home standards. My memory is not too clear as to why we were there. I had been traveling with a representative group around the state all summer, singing duets with Glen Lindsay, Pat Price and others. Donald might have been along for the ride or to give a speech about the home. I just do not remember. What I do remember is that there were three of us teenagers on the trip, Donald, Barbara Price, Pat’s older sister and me. I dont remember Barbara normally being along on the trips herself, but Pat was having a problem with her nose and throat that prevented her from singing up to her usual high standards and Barbara may have been filling in for her. I’m still having a little difficulty recalling all the details, but hey! That was more than forty years ago. Anyway, one evening a boy, in his late teens came over to visit the family with whom we were staying. Actually, he came to visit the woman of the house’s daughter (Alice?). I’ll call the boy, Joe. That evening everyone enjoyed a wonderful supper as we sit around a long table passing food back and forth, stuffing our guts, talking and just plain having a great time. Most everyone had finished eating but continued to hang around the table visiting when I noticed a biscuit on a platter at the far end of the table. I have always been a hearty eater and that night was no exception. Therefore, I ate right up to the point of noticing that single solitary biscuit and stopped. My stomach wasnt ready however and I kept watching the plate cradling that one last biscuit, hoping it would get in someone’s way and they would pass it a little closer down the table in my direction. Well it never did and I never mustered up the courage to ask. Therefore, I suffered through part one of my little story. Part two, now that is another matter and I will get to it in a minute. Remember Joe and Alice? Well they were getting rather close over in a corner by the fire and everyone else found a comfortable place to sit (or lie) down and had begun to watch TV. The older couple retired after a bit, at least they disappeared into the back of the house and I suppose Donald, Barbara and I were feeling somewhat like knots on a log, not knowing what to do or where to do it at. Meanwhile Joe and Alice continuing to cozy up by the fireplace. Anyway, some time passed when all of a sudden Alice broke the silence. “Do you kids want to go for a ride? She asked. I don’t recall if the older couple gave their permission or not. Still the five of us ambled out to the garage and crawled into a big black fifty model Buick that was parked out there. Up in the front seat, Joe took the wheel with Alice at his side. There was plenty of room in the back so Donald jumped in first, taking the seat behind the driver. Barbara crawled into the middle and I took the window on the right. After leaving the house, we drove around very little, mostly in a straight line to the city park where Joe stopped the car in a secluded spot and switched off the lights. The night was dark but for a few rays from a street lamp located a short distance away. Joe turned slowly to stare at the three of us for a moment. “You kids ok”, he asked, smiling. Donald and I were thirteen while Barbara was a very mature fourteen. He turned back to the front without waiting for an answer and proceeded to put his arm around Alice. They began to kiss. There was a foot of space on either side of Barbara separating the three of us from each other. I don’t know who made the first move, Barbara, Donald or me. But the distance soon diminished when a beautiful fourteen-year-old girl began teaching a couple of thirteen-year-old boys a thing or two about girls. Of course in those days, things were not as they are today. We mostly kissed. I do, however, remember it as an experience ranked up there with some of the best sexual experiences of my life. Barbara could sure kiss. The next morning, on our trip back to Monticello, I felt very sick (love sick). There we were with Barbara evenly spaced between Donald and I in the back seat of a car. But this time, Joe and Alice are not in the front seat. Therefore, we cannot touch this beautiful girl, just inches away as had been the night before. Our chaperon, Mrs. Jones turned toward the back seat and stared for a moment. “You kids alright? she asked. Mr. and Mrs. Jones were nice people and I enjoyed traveling with them immensely but they really didn’t know our feelings that day as the three of us replied in unison, “yes!” Benjamin J Cox is an author, novelist, poet, speaker, writer and humorist. Polygamy, Rape, and Religious Conspiracy

Friday, January 25th, 2008

By Paul Davis What do polygamy, rape, and religious conspiracy have to do with one another? Meet the Mormon Church and disciple Warren Steed Jeffs who calls himself a prophet and revealer of “God’s will.” He is a perverter of truth, who like his father the devil, cleverly twists and distorts Scripture to serve His own ends (Psalm 91:10-11; Matthew 4:5-6). Jeffs is a modern day example reminding us that false religious doctrine is a poison pill infecting society. Warren Steed Jeffs (born December 3, 1955 in San Francisco, California) is the President of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. FLDS is one of a number of sects that broke away from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when the LDS denounced polygamy in 1890. As president of the FLDS Church, Jeffs is considered by faithful members to be a “prophet”, “seer”, and “revelator of God’s will” on behalf of humanity. Here again is another case in point of how false doctrine leads to perverted living and human rights abuses. Erroneous doctrinal interpretation of Holy Scripture has long time been used by wicked men who pervert the truth to serve their own lusts and commit crimes against humanity. Nowhere in the Bible does God Almighty endorse polygamy. On the contrary, in the beginning Adam was given one wife in the form of Eve. God did not give to Adam two women. No! It was one wife for one life. Later over time kings and rulers in their own lust took more women for themselves and historically always suffered the consequences for doing so. Their judgment was perverted and leadership misled due to numerous women and a multiplicity of ill formed alliances. Polygamy is not godly. Trying to legitimize polygamy as a God thing is demonic and deadly. If you don’t believe me, read below the life of Warren Jeffs to get one candid and clear picture of the horrific effects of erroneous interpretation of Scripture to gratify one’s own lusts at the expense of other human beings. In May 2006, Warren Jeffs was placed on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted List for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution (of state charges). Jeffs was apprehended by Nevada Highway Patrolman Eddie Dutchover on August 28, 2006 just north of Las Vegas during a routine traffic stop. He was immediately charged with evading police custody and several counts of “Accomplice to Rape” for arraigning under age “marriages”. There are no state records of a Marriage License being issued in the cases involving 13 and 14 year old girls. He is believed to have had sexual relations with a minor, but neither the State of Arizona nor the State of Utah has brought those specific charges yet In June 2005, Warren Jeffs was charged with sexual assault on a minor, and with conspiracy to commit sexual conduct with a minor for allegedly arranging, in 2002, a marriage between a 16-year-old girl and a 28-year-old man who was already married. On July 19, 2006, Britain’s Channel 4 ran the documentary The Man with 80 Wives. The program featured presenter Sanjiv Bhattacharya searching for Warren Jeffs, unsuccessfully, in Colorado, Utah and Texas. Filmed before Jeffs was put on the FBI’s 10 most wanted list, the documentary features interviews with one of Jeffs’s brothers as well as with several excommunicated FLDS members. In 2003, Under the Banner of Heaven was published, a book written by Jon Krakauer documenting the history of both the LDS church and its spinoff sects, focusing largely on the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The book described illegal activity in the (Fundamentalist) Church, mainly polygamy and statutory rape. The fugitive polygamist sect leader was caught in Las Vegas near the end of August, 2006. Nevada state troopers found one of the FBI’s most wanted fugitives, along with wigs, cell phones, laptop computers and more than $54,000 in cash, on a highway north of Las Vegas, authorities said. Polygamist sect leader Warren Steed Jeffs, 50, is being held without bail in the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas, Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff said. Jeffs initially gave the troopers an alias before acknowledging who he was, said Steven M. Martinez, FBI Special Agent in Charge of the agency’s Las Vegas office. Jeffs faces charges of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution in Utah and Arizona, sexual conduct with a minor, conspiracy to commit sexual conduct with a minor and rape as an accomplice, according to the FBI Web site. He has been called a religious zealot and dangerous extremist by critics and former members of his church. God help Mr. Jeffs to discover the true heart of Jesus, repent for his gross wrongdoing, and reform his theology and lifestyle. Life in prison certainly will put an end to his polygamist and rapist tendencies, while ensuring young girls that he won’t be on the streets preying on them as the child molester he is. The Mormon Church has done much harm in society by the propagation of its polygamist doctrine and concept of heaven, the latter of which they still espouse and hold to in the afterlife. The Mormon’s also used to consider black people cursed by God too. Doctrines of devils and a synagogue of Satan the Bible calls the Mormon Church (1 Timothy 4:1-4; Galatians 1:7; Revelation 3:9). Warren Jeffs is a perfect example of one “full of all subtilty and all mischief, a child of the devil, an enemy of all righteousness, not ceasing to pervert the right ways of the Lord (Acts 13:10). God help him and those he has victimized. Take heed unto yourself, and be careful concerning what doctrine you believe. Continue in the truth of God’s Word (adding nothing to it as the book of Mormon does; and taking nothing away from it as the Jehovah Witnesses do who deny the diety of Christ): for in doing this thou shalt both save yourself, and them that hear you [read 1 Timothy 4:16]. He that walks uprightly walks surely: but he that perverts his ways shall be known (Proverbs 10:9). There shall be like people; like priest (Hosea 4:9). In other words people become like the Pastors and Priests who see over their souls and spiritual life. Therefore God rewards and punishes you accordingly based on the type of “church” you choose to attend and submit your soul to. Save your soul and stay far away from the Mormon Church and its proselytizers knocking at your door with plastic smiles and phony religious titles. Roommate Advertisements - 5 Essential Ingredients For Creating The Perfect Ad

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

By Enid Steiner Does your roommate advertisement jump out of the page and catch your reader’s attention? If you feel your advertisement doesn’t capture the imagination of potential roommates, these tips can help you. The key is to design an advertisement that’s a balance between letting people know what kind of roommate is right for you while showing potential roommates why you would be their perfect roommate. You can attract the right people by including 5 key ingredients in your advertisement. These ingredients let you write a free flowing concise advertisement where the reader can decide straight away if it’s a good idea to contact you. Together with a positive tone, your advertisement will stand out and be remembered even after your potential roommate has read many advertisements. The length of your advertisement also plays a vital role in finding the right roommate. You will need to decide how much space you wish to dedicate to each ingredient without your advertisement becoming too brief or long-winded. The easiest ways to find the right length is by trial and error or asking for a second opinion. So, what are the 5 key ingredients to include in your advertisement? Let’s take a look and find out more about each one. 1. Rent and Bond/Security Deposit Clearly stating the rent per week, any additional expenses and if a bond/security deposit needs to be paid lets people decide if they can afford to live with you as a roommate. Ideally, your advertisement should mention if the rent already includes expenses or whether they’re extra. 2. Residence and Location In your advertisement you should mention the suburb/town and the type of dwelling you are living in. For readers to get a better picture you should include a brief description of amenities such as the number of bedrooms. You may also wish to list benefits such as cable TV, internet connection or scenic views. 3. Roommates You should mention the number of roommates that live in your household. It lets potential roommates know how many people they would be living with and whether it’s suitable for them. This screens out any people who would like to live in a smaller or larger household. 4. Roommate Ingredients Your advertisement should state the top 2-3 traits you are looking for in a roommate, for example, an outgoing female who is a non-smoker. Listing these traits can act as a screening process and indicates to potential roommates what kind of roommate is right for you. 5. Local Amenities It’s important to list local amenities such as local shops, Cafes or transport. This will attract people to your advertisement, as these benefits are often a determining factor when looking for a roommate. A good example are students who may wish to live near public transport and close to College. These ingredients let you create an informative advertisement where potential roommates can learn about your household while finding out which kind of roommate is right for you. Just remember, by simply adding each essential ingredient to your roommate advertisement, you too, can capture the eye of your perfect roommate. Good Luck and Happy Roommate Hunting! Potential of Genetically Modified Crops in Renewable Energy

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

By James Wachai Four weeks ago, I wrote a column about genetically modified corn with a heat stable version of enzyme alpha amylase. Scientists behind this maize variety say it will be used to produce renewable energy. If you live in the developed world, youll think twice before equating such efforts with building castles in the air. Already, corn is being widely used in the production of ethanol in the U.S. So, this new maize variety will only complement current efforts to use genetically modified maize for renewable energy. Isnt this good news especially at a time when gas prices are at their all time high? More importantly, this is a clear manifestation of the potential of genetically modified crops to solve the worlds food and energy problems. Countries, especially those in the developing world, must now integrate modern agricultural biotechnology in their agricultural policies. This is the only way they can join the league of countries reaping heavily from genetically modified crops. Developing countries can no longer continue to be mere spectators in the biotech game. They must intensify efforts to assimilate biotechnology into their agriculture. Its encouraging some countries are gravitating towards novel agricultural technologies such as biotechnology. The Swedish government, for example, last week announced a grant of $11 million to East African countries to develop their agriculture. The grant will be headed by Prof. Esther Kahangi, former lecturer at Kenyas Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). The grant, among other things, targets biotechnology activities and decreasing dependence on non-renewable resources. This is a golden opportunity for the East African countries to explore the potential of agricultural biotechnology. Prof. Kahangi, a pioneer in agricultural biotechnology in Kenya, must use her influence and knowledge to convince other countries that modern biotechnology can play an integral role in food and energy sustainability. If the U.S. can effectively use genetically modified maize for ethanol production why cant Africa do the same? Anti-biotech activists have led Africans to believe that genetically modified crops have no place in their lives. Because they are driven by malice, they wouldnt bother to tell such success stories of using transgenic maize for ethanol production. James uses his communication expertise to create awareness about GM food. What are Your Marketing Objectives?

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

By Lance Winslow Does your small business have goals? Goals and objectives for how much its sales you wish to accomplish? If not, how can you adequately planned your marketing for your company? I guess what I am saying here is; If You Don’t Know Where You’re Going Any Road Will Take You There. Yes that is an old famous quote and know I did not make it up. Granted, however what are your marketing objectives? Do you have any? Where do you want to go today? To effectively design a marketing strategy for your small business you need to have goals and objectives and you need to know exactly where you want to be and where you are now. You cannot design the perfect marketing strategy or implement it correctly unless you know what your objectives are. There is of course such thing as dumb luck or beginner’s luck, but I imagine if you are a small business owner you do not want to rely on luck alone. Why not take out a piece of paper right now and write down exactly what you want at of your business, what types of customers you want, how much money you want to make, how many new clients you want to have each week and how much you want each customer to spend on your business. That’s a start and I’m sure once you start you’ll think of other goals and objectives that you would like to see in your business this year. So, go get a piece of paper and pencil and good luck.
